Dear distinguished colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that the 10th Balkan Congress of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which I am honoured to chair as President of the Balkan Society of ORL-HNS and President of Albanian Society of ORL-HNS, will take place in Tirana, Albania, on 2 – 5 June 2016.
The Congress program focuses on all the topics of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and will appeal to an audience of over 500 attendees from Balkan countries and beyond. The scientific program includes keynote lectures from eminent professors of Otorhinolaryngology from around the world, panels, workshops, etc. Each delegate will have the opportunity to take part to instructional courses, free paper presentations, poster and video sessions.
I have noticed with great pleasure that during the recent years there has been an increasing cooperation between the ENT societies of the Balkan countries. This cooperation must be developed even further because we live in neighbouring countries that share a common history and traditions. Our profession stands above politics and beyond borders. As medical professionals we must find the common links and interests that bring us and our countries together. With good will and hard work, in the spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance, we must lead the new generations of medical professionals and further our scientific achievements.
This Congress will be not only a scientific event but a social one as well. Participating in this Congress would be the best opportunity to visit Albania, to discover its natural and cultural treasures and to meet old and new friends. We trust you will enjoy Albania and its great hospitality.
